Ahhh Sunday's

Wow its Sunday again time for another busy as week to start! But before we get into Monday morning again already I was just wanting to pause and thank God for the amazingly busy and good week I had!
My great friend had her baby boy on Sunday night last week and I got to go see them and hold a newborn baby! wow what a privilege that was they are just so tiny and precious... I look at this new little bubby then to my 4 month old heflalump! lol and wonder at just how fast she has grown!

May bubba girl is trying hard to crawl some days! Wow that's kinda scary I had hoped I had a few more months to baby proof the house but I'm not so sure now....  I may need to get off my butt and get moving on that.

this week gone also was a chance to put up the Christmas tree..... I love Christmas and I'm soo excited to share it this year with my daughter for the first time! I know she will not quite get it this year but next year's will be amazing! She already loved the tree and the pretty lights she was quite fascinated by them!

We also put up for the first time some lights on the outside of the our house too... soo pretty I love lights and can't wait to go and take Olivia on the drive to see some of them! :-)

I love my church and being a part of the family that I have made there I've been going to my church now for 7 years it is now I believe... wow its was though my church I met my husband and made some of the best friends that I have!
Soo here to Monday and the start of another week! Lets remember that we are not alone in this life and that we can always find hope in God :)

Things I wish I knew before I had my Baby!

Well bubby is now 4 months old today and I can finally say honesty that I am beginning to get the hang of this Mummy bit... sort of LOL.. Oh my is it challenging and well sometimes just plain hard work and I know it’s only going to get worse as she gets older ... well so my friends with teens tell me!

I must say in the last 4 months my learning curve has been steep in a lot of ways. I still wish my baby came with and instruction manual and a full and empty light so I know when she is hungry! LOL....

Now the main reason for this post was to write about my experience with flat head syndrome... or otherwise known as Plagicephaly is the technical term, now as a first time mum I had not heard about this at all until I was having bubby weighed and measured by midwife who noted that bubby had a slight flat spot on the side of her head... now I had noticed it but was unsure, she suggested a few things like change the end of the cot to make her lie on the other side to see the world and to just keep turning her head back to the other side... So we started to make these changes, BUT Olivia like her Mummy was stubborn little bub and liked to face the other way a favourite side was forming....

* note Olivia was a vacuum extraction birth and I think she had a sore spot on her head from that birth and so favoured the other side for the first few days and that help set this pattern in motion....

Soo I was up at the hospital having my physio appointment for myself when my physio who also does children commented on my daughter head she was quite concerned and wanted me to get into see her... SO I began that process of going to see my GP and then getting a referral to physio etc, we got in to see physio eventually it did take around a month to get all those wheels in motion!

In and around all this happening I began to do some googling ... I love google it almost always has the answers! LOL just choose your sites wisely make sure they are actually factual and not just like this one just an option! OK I'm not a nurse or a Dr so please just remember that this is only my experience!

I must also say in this as my faith is a massive part of who I am I was praying and having Bubby prayed for her head at our church healing service and I say with all honesty that I attribute the huge improvement in her head shape to 3 things , PRAYER, Positional treatments and the pillow!

I found heaps of info on this flat head syndrome which is now quite common and is often due to the medical recommendation that we sleep bubby’s on their backs now days... which like a good mummy I did! I would recommend to any mum or mummy to be is do your research on this condition which is so common and learns how to treat and prevent it!

I ended up buying a proper head support pillow to help her head round out it’s taken a few months but it’s not as flat anymore the pillow was wonderful! I'm so glad for Dr and midwives who helped me with info and assurance that it was ok and would get better in time, I was terrified that she might need some massive corrective treatments like a helmet but praise God she won’t most likely now! Now if you want more information this site http://flatheadsyndrome.com.au/index.php/learn-about-plagio.html was great and there is heaps more out there!

Mummy's and Daddy's information is the best weapon in all of this!!!!! Be informed and be aware of this! Help tell others about this condition! I honestly believe if I had of known more about this before bub's arrival I could of prevented it from happening and me and daddy a whole lot of worry and stress!
